3D Scanning is a non-contact, non-destructive technology that digitally captures the shape of physical objects using a line of laser light. 3D scanners create “point clouds” of data from the surface of an object. In other words, 3D scanning is a way to capture a physical object’s exact size and shape into the computer world as a digital 3-dimensional representation. 3D scanners measure fine details and capture free-form shapes to quickly generate highly accurate point clouds.
3D scanning is ideally suited to the measurement and inspection of contoured surfaces and complex geometries which require massive amounts of data for their accurate description and where doing this is impractical with the use of traditional measurement methods or a touch probe.
We offer 3D White Light Scanning Services for Aerospace, Automobile, and Consumer Durables industries to name few. These services are offered using Steinbichler Comet 5 White Light Scanner. This digitization process is carried out using conjunction optical technology and digital image processing to extract the coordinates of points on the surface of an object.
3D White Light Scanning is a scanning technique that uses a non-contact optical scanning method with white light source by fringe projection. White Light Scanning picks up the point coordinates from the surface of the object being scanned. The area of the part within the frame can be scanned during a single scan, wherein if the surface to be scanned is larger than the frame, the scanning is done multiple times with markers placed on the surface. These serve as reference points that are to be scanned and merged with the help of the markers. With the use of White Light Scanner we can digitize small part to a big size Aeroplane with high accuracy.

We have the expertise to offer solution for 3DLaserScanning. Our skilled engineers use laser scanning systems for capturing point-cloud data and to create 3D Digital model. The picture below demonstrates the oxygen mask, rubber molded part being scanned using laser scanning method. This scanning is quick and a complete scan with inner and outer details can be performed in a single scan.
